Each month in the Longarm League, we hold a coaching call with one of our members to talk about their business. This month I sat down with Kim Tocci of Quigley's Quilts. We talked about the importance her website and Google Business Profile have had in building her clientele, her soon-to-be-completed purchase of a second longarm, and her plans for the future.
While League members have full access to the recording of the call, we asked Kim to share a little more about herself and her business with our blog readers.
Without further ado, let's meet Kim...

Best way for someone to contact you for quilting? Through my website.
Tell us a little about your business and the services you provide at Quigley's Quilts.
I provide computerized edge to edge quilting. I also make custom quilts, T-shirt and memory quilts.
Do you have any advice for someone just starting out with their business?
Get a website! Get on Google Business Profile! Be patient. It sometimes take a while to build up your business.
How did you get started longarm quilting?
I bought an inexpensive longarm in 2014 to quilt for myself because I didn't want to pay a longarmer to quilt for me. In 2020 I decided to start a business so I upgraded to a new machine with a computer.
Could you tell us about a business "win" you've had?
My "win" was when my business was able to pay its own expenses starting last summer.
What pantograph(s) have you been loving lately?
Ocean Waves by Christy Dillon for My Creative Stitches
What is your favorite notion for longarm quilting?
The lanyard I wear around my neck that hold my scissors.
What's your favorite part of making a quilt?
Binding! I used to hate it but now I love offering that to my clients!
Favorite snack while sewing?
Peanut M&Ms
What other hobbies do you enjoy aside from quliting?
Who has the time?? :)
